An amazing maths lecturer and tutor. I’ve always struggled with maths but Michael makes it entertaining and explains concepts so well that I, for the first time, find myself smiling and understanding as I learn math. He is patient and supportive and uq are lucky to have him. As one of the other reviews said, it’s a shame he doesn’t teach the higher level maths subjects because maths can never have enough Michael Jennings”.
Which course did you take? (e.g. MGTS1301)

Positives
Engaging and great at simplifying concepts
Makes math fun
Great sense of humour
Negatives
Doesn’t teach enough of the math subjects offered at uq
Michael is, in my two years at UQ, the best lecturer I've had. He has a terrific sense of humour that made the lectures just fly right by. In addition to being a really down to earth lecturer, he also knows what he's talking about and more importantly, can explain it really well. I would look forward to lectures, because not only was there some terrific banter during them, but he motivated me to learn more, because of course, he explained everything so well I actually understood what to do.

Michael Jennings is the only reason I turned up to any lectures in MATH1050 and 1051. He's very easy to understand and his lectures are well structured. He covers content at a good pace, although some people might find that he goes a little slow when introducing more complex concepts. I personally found this helpful as it stopped me from getting left behind.
His lecture style is very laid back and his dry humour helped to keep my attention during some very dull content. He was very approachable when students had questions during or after lectures and he encouraged student input. I wish he taught the higher level subjects, because maths can never have enough Michael Jennings.
