I hope all of you not to choose this guy as an adviser.

irresponsible,haught，low academic ability.

I had ever told him I wanted a better mark(I was willing to do any thing to fix my thesis). But this guy just gave me a "4" without ANY ANY ANY EXPLANATION!! This resulted I was not eligible to do a Ph.D!!!(if it was "5", then I could)

The funny thing was, he told the vice dean that I didn't reply his e-mail?!!!! EXCUESE ME???? I sent about 46 emails, and this guy just sent about 35, how could this guy say that?

This guy is also haughty. When I saw my mark was 4, I asked him for a reason. This guy didn't give me an explanation angain!!!

About his academic ability: as you can see in his publication list, he 1999 finished Ph.D but has less papers and has no RPRESENTATIVE WORK. This guy totally has 12 papers, but 1999-now is 18 years. I wonder, would this guy get out and let other excellent postdoc fellow come in???

You, supervise me by low standards, but judge me with high standards? IS THIS FAIR?

I gave up on going to Victor's lectures a few weeks into the course. He simply does not know how to teach students, rather, he'll just read from the lecture notes word for word and expect you to follow. He's a boring lecturer, doesn't know when to slow down and gauge his student's understanding and sometimes ignores people who desperately want to ask a question. It's almost as if he wants his students to fail. As soon as I found out about Poh, I immediately ditched Victor and was 100% satisfied.

The problem with, Victor Scharaschkin or 'The Vic' as he's known, is that he fails to understand how students learn and think. There is no doubting his superior intellect as you get bombarded with a non-stop stream of mathematical jargon throughout every lecture. But he fails to engage his audience, often over complicates otherwise simple concepts and frequently goes on strange tangents completely unrelated to the topic at hand. As a student, it is difficult to differentiate the important lecture notes from relative mathematical non-sense. And it is terribly hard to concentrate in his boring lectures. In summary, he's too smart for his own good, he doesn't understand, nor does he make use of effective teaching methods, rather, he will robotically reproduce mathematical concepts to you all semester and expects you to decipher the important parts.

This course gives a great introduction to algebraic and analytic number theory. Victor has a large breadth of knowledge on almost any topic and can provide many interesting current results.
